You are just a few steps from parenthood. But first you must make a few important choices. We are here to guide you through every step. We have put together this guide to illustrate how to so do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.

1. Choose your preferred method of treatment

The choice between treatment in a fertility clinic or self-treatment is highly individual and may imply both medical and emotional considerations.

If you are free of fertility issues, simple assisted insemination is an alternative to treatment in a clinic, of course with the guidance of a health care professional.

2. Choose a donor category

In the next step, you must decide which donor category is the right for you and your family.

SellmerDiers offers three donor categories:

ID-release donors: The donor’s identifying information will be released to the donor child upon the child’s request once he or she reaches the age of 18. The donor has agreed to one in-person meeting of one hour with the donor child.

ID-release, donors’ decision in 18 years: The donor has the option of waiting to decide if he wants his identity released, have an anonymous contact or no contact until the donor child turns 18 and contacts SellmerDiers with the desire to make contact with the donor.

No ID-release donors: When choosing a donor without ID-release it will not be possible to learn the identity of the donor.

Please review SellmerDiers Donor Categories and the detailed descriptions of each donor category to help choose your ideal donor.

Please note that in some countries special rules about donor identity release apply. We recommend that you consult the clinic or healthcare professional treating you before choosing your donor category.

3. Find your donor match

We recommend that you start on our Donor Search page where you can narrow your search by selecting the criteria that are important for you.

Finding the perfect match is a big decision, and we recommend that you take your time. If you have any questions or should the donor you choose be out of stock, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

4. Place your order

We recommend that you consult your clinic or healthcare professional about how many units you should order. One unit should be enough for each treatment. However, you may need several treatments before you achieve pregnancy. Your healthcare professional can advise you about your individual chances of becoming pregnant. By ordering more units at a time you will save the shipping costs.

If you are to be treated with the donor sperm in a country where Pregnancy Slots are statutory you must also purchase a pregnancy slot.

Our most popular donors sell out quickly. If you are considering the possibility of additional children and you wish them to be full siblings, we recommend that you purchase additional units for later use. The units may be stored at our facility until you are ready to use them. We recommend that you purchase 7 units per pregnancy. We offer a Unit Buyback Policy in the event you no longer wish to maintain ownership of your previously purchased units stored at SellmerDiers.

Your units may be purchased for immediate shipping, or you may choose to store them at SellmerDiers for future use.

Before you place your order, do not forget to check if your clinic or healthcare professional is allowed to treat you with the donor sperm you have chosen and to inform them that your order will soon be on its way to the clinic.

5. We ship your order

We ship as soon as possible and deliver within 1-2 days from the confirmation of order, unless otherwise agreed.

If you have special needs or requirements please contact us, we will do our best to accommodate them.

6. Treatment

Now it is time for your treatment, and we keep our fingers crossed wishing you the best of luck.

Where do you purchase a pregnancy slot, i cant see that at check out, and how much is it?

    1. helle says:

Hello, we do not operate with pregnancy slots since our donors have fewer pregnancies than at other sperm banks. So you do not need to purchase a pregnancy slot. Hope this answers your question.
      All the best,

Yes, they can. Look for the sign “UK compliant” on the overview here:

You are also very welcome to send an email to with a selection of donors and the customer service team will let you know which of them are UK compliant.
