SellmerDiers

We have chosen our donor categories with you and your future family in mind. SellmerDiers offers three categories of donors to fit your family’s needs.

ID-release donors (with a profile)

We understand the desire for a child to be able to get to know more about his or her biological origin.

  • SellmerDiers will release the donor’s identifying information to the donor child upon the child’s request once he or she reaches the age of 18.
  • The donor has agreed to one in-person meeting of one hour with the donor child. The donor and the donor child will mutually decide the form and extent of the communication between them.
  • We provide a donor profile with 8-15 pages of personal information about the donor.

ID-release, donors’ decision in 18 year (with a profile)

We understand that it can be difficult for some of our donors to commit to their identity being released in 18 years where they might be at another place in life. We also know that the most meaningful contact between donor child and donor is the contact that is voluntary on both sides.

  • The donor has the option of waiting to decide if he wants his identity released, have an anonymous contact or no contact until the donor child turns 18 and contacts SellmerDiers with the desire to make contact with the donor.
  • If the donor agrees to a contact with the donor child, the donor and the donor child will mutually decide the form and extent of the communication between them.
  • We provide a donor profile with 8-15 pages of personal information about the donor.

No ID-release donors (without a profile)

We understand that in many cases – and for many varied reasons – it can be the best solution for both the donor child, the family and the donor that the donor remains unknown.

  • When choosing a donor without ID-release it will not be possible to learn the identity of the donor.
  • We provide basic information about the donor, such as race, ethnicity, eye colour, hair colour, height, weight, blood type and profession/education.
  • We provide a short description of our staff’s impression of the donor and a look-alike picture of a celebrity that the donor resembles.
  • If the donor has agreed to it, you will have access to a childhood photo of the donor.
